Job Description
As the Bid Writer will assist in the preparation of tender responses, funding applications and sales proposals, ensuring they are consistent with the organisations mission and values and compliant with funder requirements.
- Identify, develop and write compelling bids in alignment with the organisation's objectives.
- Work closely with the business development and marketing team to strategise on potential business opportunities.
- Conduct in-depth research to understand client's needs and tailor bids accordingly.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the Not For Profit sector and its funding environment.
- Ensure all bids comply with necessary regulations and guidelines.
- Monitor and report on the success and outcomes of submitted bids.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather necessary information for bid production.
- Deliver high-quality written content that effectively communicates the organisation's vision and services.
- You will need to be highly efficient and driven with excellent communication skills and have previously worked in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines and you will therefore the ability to flex your approach.
- You will be able to create clear and relevant responses to tender/application questions alone and with support from specialist teams including key requirements such as methodologies, risk assessments, and social values etc
- Coordinate and edit content input from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from education, finance, operations.
- Research in-house, and external data, selecting appropriate information to include; Quality review and edit responses prepared by the wider bid team;
- Provide advice on flow, language, and grammar to content owners.
- Ensure proposal/response documents follow required formatting and quality standards
- Attend strategy and preparation meetings; support internal team and bid meetings, preparing presentations and documents; Assist with bid management on tenders - progression to bid manage own specific projects;
- Champion document management and change control best practices

A successful Bid Writer should have:This is high value bids in a competitive environment, but the orgsanisation has a very strong track record in conversion rates.
- A degree in Marketing, Business, English, or a related field.
- Proven background in bid writing, particularly within the Not For Profit sector, Charity or Health Sector.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and you must be able to write strong content and copy for some technical bids. Attention to detail and creativity is key.
- Strong research and strategic thinking abilities.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Sound knowledge of the Not For Profit industry and its funding environment.
