Description and requirements
Skanska Building Services, a division of Skanska UK, provides a range of services to maintain, enhance and ensure the efficient operation of buildings. These services can include mechanical and electrical maintenance, asset management, energy management, MEP project works and more.
We're in search of a talented Bid Writer to become a part of our passionate, enthusiastic and dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to bidding some innovative new contracts for a range of forward-thinking customers across the Commercial, Education, Government, and Life Sciences sectors.
The purpose of the role will be to support the business in articulating winning PQQs and tender submissions, enabling bid teams to communicate their operational and commercial solutions to customers’ in a clear, engaging and creative way that demonstrates that Skanska understands their needs. You will facilitate response development through storyboarding, answer planning and writing workshops, and provide researching, writing and editing support. Actively share best practice and lessons learned to drive excellence across Skanska’s operating units.

You’ll*:
- Be able to write well-constructed, clear and highly engaging bid submissions that support a winning tender response and is aligned to what the customer wants.
- Enable bid teams to deliver high-quality draft responses through professional writing and editing support
- Analyse and understand PQQs and tender quality scoring criteria and client requirements as well as the preferences of the target audience
- Facilitate win themes, storyboarding, answer planning and writing workshops. Write question analysis and response plans
- Work closely with subject matter experts and bid managers to develop and refine drafts into clearly articulated, well-structured, highly engaging responses that focus on the benefits of our solution to the customer, while ensuring consistency with house style and alignment with customer terminology
- Work with graphic designers to produce appropriate graphics that enhance the response
- Contribute to review meetings and consider review comments from review team to enhance PQQs and quality bid content
- Be able to commute to Leavesden and/or Central London as and when required

We’re* looking for:
- Minimum GCSE English Language Grade C or equivalent (desirable)
- Degree-level education (desirable)
- Prior experience from a bidding environment FM / MEP desirable)
- Excellent written English, with attention to detail
- Proven abilities in a professional writing capacity, delivering high-quality narrative to tight deadlines
