Bookkeeper

Reed Accountancy are seeking a Bookkeeper to join a manufacturing business in Bingley. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing both the purchase and sales ledgers, nominal ledger activities, and weekly payroll. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and a systematic approach to handling financial tasks. AAT Level 4 qualification is desirable but not essential.

Salary (dependent on experience): £35k-£40k + discretionary bonus

Day to Day of the role:

• Purchase Ledger: Inputting invoices, posting payments, monthly closedown procedure, payment of invoices, and producing associated reports and analysis.
• Sales Ledger: Raising invoices, emailing customers, accounting system inputs, payment posting, monthly closedown procedure, producing associated reports, checking & maintaining credit limits, and chasing payments.
• Nominal Ledger: Preparing monthly management accounts, daily bank reconciliation, audit analysis, reconciliation of P&L and balance sheet information, preparing & filing quarterly VAT and PPT returns, and assisting auditors.
• Weekly Payroll: Collecting employee clocking data, engaging with managers to ratify absences and overtime, running payroll, maintaining accurate holiday & sickness records, and managing pension payments.
• Cashflow Forecasts: Preparing and maintaining accurate cashflow forecasts to support financial planning.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Demonstrable experience in a similar finance role.
• AAT Level 4 or above is desirable.
• High level of attention to detail.
• A calm, systematic approach to complex tasks.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
