Purpose of Role
· To assist with the effective and efficient operation of the Tyne Theatre & Opera House’s Box Office and ticketing services. The role is required to provide excellent client and customer service and offer a proactive ticket sales operation to maximise income opportunities across a wide variety of live events.
· The role will report to the Assistant Box Office Manager and work alongside all departments.
· Working hours will require flexibility and will include evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the operation of the Box Office and ticketing services.
- Facilitate the efficient and accurate sale of tickets via the venue’s Box Office system. This will include telephone, in person ticket sales and accessible/group bookings and enquiries.
- Liaise with the Theatre’s promoters, clients and ticketing agents.
- Ensure that opening and closing procedures are adhered to
- Financial administration, reconciliation and payment management.
- To respond to customer enquiries on the phone and via email
- Ensure that the Box Office is tidy and well stocked
- Troubleshoot and report Box Office technical issues
Role Requirements
· Experience of working in an events venue environment
· Occasional supervision of casual Box Office Staff.
· An interest in the arts and entertainment industries
· Experience of working with digital ticketing platforms
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Good relationship building skills
· Excellent time management and organisational skills
· High level of attention to detail
· Good MS Office and IT skills
