What does the job entail?
On behalf of Warwickshire County Council, Pertemps Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for a Building Services Electrical Design Engineer to join their team. This is a high-profile post and would be an ideal opportunity for someone looking to gain more experience as a Building Services Electrical Design Engineer within a Local Authority.
You will achieve this by:

• The post holder will be responsible for the design of Electrical Engineering Installations within buildings of various size, age and construction in conformity with relevant professional and technical standards and statutory requirements.
• You will produce specifications, drawings and contract documentation for distribution, small power, lighting, fire alarm systems, security, UPS/IT power systems and standby generator systems using design software packages such as Hevacomp for planned maintenance and refurbishment projects.
• The post holder will chair project pre-start, progress and handover meetings with building users and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
• You will assist the Team Lead in monitoring the commitment and expenditure of project funds to ensure expenditure is contained within budget allocation.

What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?

• Appropriate HNC/equivalent - and appropriate professional membership (The IET /CIBSE)
• Experience in Electrical Building Services Design
• A successful track record in project management
• A working knowledge of Hevacomp or equivalent HVAC design packages and AutoCAD
• The ability to produce works specifications to obtain quotation on a competitive basis
