Building Maintenance Surveyor
Location: North Yorkshire
Pay Rate: £22.51 per hour (umbrella)
A Council in North Yorkshire is recruiting for a Maintenance Surveyor, to play a crucial role in overseeing responsive repairs to council homes. We are looking for a skilled individual with experience in building surveying within council homes and properties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and order responsive repairs, including specifying materials, empty property repairs, and responsive maintenance programs/contracts.
- Allocate work to council-appointed contractors, monitor progress, and sign off work upon satisfactory completion.
- Respond to reports of disrepair and/or repairs service-related complaints, conduct investigations, and collaborate closely with legal services regarding disrepair claims.
- Provide support and guidance to Repair and Maintenance Operatives.
- Undertake site visits to assess progress and provide direction to R & M Operatives.
- Ensure timely responses to all customer queries, including requests for tenants' own improvement work.
- Collaborate with Adult and Children Services regarding adaptation requests and raise appropriate work orders for minor/intermediate adaptation works.
- Work closely with Capital Improvements in the development of the council's rolling improvement plan.
- Liaise with legal services to establish property boundary ownership and repair liabilities.
Experience Required:
- Must have experience in building surveying within council homes and properties.
