We are seeking a motivated individual with a keen eye for detail to play a key role in the day to day running of the Council’s Building Maintenance Team. The successful candidate will be the administrative lead for the reactive works help desk and also responsible for utilities administration for the Council’s corporate property portfolio.
This role will give the successful applicant the opportunity to provide a pivotal role in the Building Services Team to work alongside Contractors and Premises Managers to make sure buildings faults are reported to the correct contractors in line with existing financial and health and safety procedures. The postholder will be responsible for recording when jobs are complete, raising purchase orders for works and checking associated invoices. Applicants will be well supported and will be able to escalate and query more complex jobs to team members where necessary.
The Buildings Administration Assistant will be required to use the Council’s Energy Management System to enter and compile reports on the Council’s utility consumption, supporting the Energy and Contracts Manager. Therefore, accuracy and the ability to follow procedures and effectively use your initiative are essential as well as being a confident communicator with a strong commitment to customer care.
The role is based at the Civic Centre Offices in Chelmsford, but you may occasionally be required to travel to sites within the district.
