Business Administration Assistant - Essex Legal Services
Permanent, Full Time
Up to £24,826 per annum
Location: Chelmsford
Working Style: Anywhere worker
The successful candidate will be expected to attend the office in Chelmsford 2 days per week to include a Team Day on Thursday and, preferably, Monday with the remaining 3 days per week offering remote working, if desired.

The Opportunity
Essex Legal Services provide high quality, professional, legal advice across the Council and to increasing numbers of external clients. Essex Legal Services provides a client facing legal service which proactively embraces change and strives to delight the customer.
As part of the practice management function, you will be supporting the Practice Manager in delivering high quality financial monitoring and management information to legal colleagues and external clients, which lead to positive improvements in service delivery.
An experienced financial administrator, with an ability to maintain and record financial data, producing management information as required. With strong organisational skills and the ability to build good working relationships, this role will deliver excellent customer service, both internally and externally.
Accountabilities
- Delivery of high-quality financial support services, including all aspects of administration, creating and maintaining records and databases, across Essex Legal Services.
- Provide quality and timely support in all aspects of finance and management information to lawyers and clients.
- Works collaboratively with colleagues for understanding customer needs to provide them with a service they value; driving the delivery of productivity and efficiency improvements.
- Responsible for delivering against personal objectives which support the wider function strategic vision.
- Contributes to the development and improvement of local systems and processes to improve efficiency and service delivery.
- Ability to develop good working relationships with colleagues/stakeholders and clients to ensure a quality service is provided to the customer.
- Delegated functions as detailed in the Council’s constitution (and as amended from time to time).
The Experience You Will Bring
Essential:
- Educated to level 3 (A ‘Levels or equivalent by experience).
- Experience of working within a financial administrative environment, within the public or private sector.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
Desirable:
- Evidence of delivering all aspects of financial monitoring, analysing financial information, and translating into management reports.
- Ability to build good working relationships across a large, complex organisation with colleagues and customers.
- Experience of Public Sector financial processes
