Business Analyst
The role will play a crucial role in establishing the way we work and deliver initiatives for our workstream, creating the framework for how we convert business needs into requirements, and how we bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions.
The main duties and responsibilities of the role are:
- Connect with stakeholders to conduct requirements gathering and review sessions, through interviews, workshops and documentation review.
- Identification of potential functional and non-functional requirements. For example, identifying potential assurance requirements for the data or technology considerations (e.g. GDPR, security etc.).
- Prioritisation of requirements based on business objectives and development effort to inform product roadmaps.
- Support evaluation of technical feasibility and commercial viability of new products and features.
- Gathering data to support decision making on product strategy, commercialisation and investment
- Support initial high-level assessment of business readiness for change with stakeholders; identifying process, data, training and technology changes needed to deliver the capability envisaged.
- Support product teams in engaging with users to capture feedback and test new features and functionality.
The role will involve aspects of:
- Identifying opportunities for implementing digitalisation to solve infrastructure industry challenges.
- Persona and user story development.
- Developing business requirements through stakeholder engagement and requirements analysis.
- Collaborate with the Solutions Architect, Product Manager and Product Lead to assess and agree a development roadmap for new products or extensions to existing products.
- Continuing engagement with end-users in the managing the realisation of business requirements through any design and development.

- Experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in IT, Information Management or Digital Transformation projects.
- Working knowledge of product management principles, methodologies and tools.
- Knowledge of the infrastructure / construction industry including one or more of our core sectors (water, energy, transport, buildings and cities).
We are looking for a Business Analyst to join the Solutions Workstream in the Central Digital team which is working to create innovative new digital solutions that embed and evolve Mott MacDonald’s technical domain capabilities.
The role will be exposed to the demanding and real-world problems faced by our clients and project teams; and have the exciting opportunity to help them articulate their business requirements and advise them on digital solutions and methods to meet their challenges.

About the team:
The Central Digital Solutions team is responsible for creating and managing a portfolio of digital solutions to maximise return on investment on behalf of the EUNA and ISMA regions of Mott MacDonald.
The Solutions workstream is involved in guiding the business to make investment decisions regarding new products and extensions to existing products, working with product teams to grow products and deliver return on investment through software subscriptions, increased service revenue and efficiency savings, helping to incubate and test new ideas and providing advice to clients and project teams on which tools and products can best serve their needs.
