Business Analyst| 6 months (Outside IR35)| Hybrid (Edinburgh)
Harvey Nash’s client is recruiting for a Business Analyst on a 6 month contract.
Main Responsibilities
- Ability to map current working processes across technologies, hardware, buildings; identify new working processes; and identify a route to achieve implementation of new processes including associated business change activities.
- Understanding, influencing and collaborating with stakeholders, users, the business, across departments and within and across teams to identify and define need.
- Leading understanding and definition of goals, benefits and needs, using a variety of techniques including facilitating single or multiple user research sessions and the analysis of data (quantitative and qualitative)
- Using user story / process mapping, identifying and defining business benefit, value and metrics, roadmaps, epics, features, user stories, including splitting and refining work, and ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ states, generating documentation to a good quality and standard, including requirements / user stories.
- Supporting the adoption of agile ways of working and solution delivery at pace, coaching others in the team in agile business analysis mind set, tools and techniques.
- Delivering high quality results and decisions, within scrum cadence tight timescales whilst working under pressure and working with ambiguity.
Key Skills
- Be able to work on your own and take ownership of your work stack
- Be able to quickly develop strong collaborative relationships within the scrum team, the lab teams, within Digital Services and out with to our users and stakeholders
- Be able to understand and define both the big picture service design and be detail orientated
- Be experienced in bringing about new ways of working
- Strong capability in business impact assessments & analysis across multiple business streams
- Be able to build a compelling value proposition associated with an epic, and define the metrics to demonstrate delivery of that value
- Have excellent inter-personal skills, coupled with strong influencing abilities and a can do attitude to keep focused on delivering the right business outcome
- Have some experience of UX and user research
- Have a good knowledge of agile ways of working (particularly Scrum events)
