We are actively recruiting a Business Analyst to be part of our dynamic SME team to support operational analysis of metrics and reporting requirements. This role will be working across QBE’s UK SME E-Trade Property and Packaged and Motor business lines and will encompass the collation of metrics from various sources to offer a central reporting suite of data to deliver operational efficiency, ensuring maintenance with accurate reporting and further analysis for continuous improvement.
About the role
- Support the SME and ETrade teams in achievement and delivery of business plans, against the annual schedules and team objectives
- Source and analyse business metrics for review and planning purposes. The analysis will identify themes and potential risks providing the lead reviewer with valuable insights for reporting.
- Central management of reporting, recording metrics and identifying key trends.
- Working in collaboration with necessary stakeholders (internal and external customers) for data reporting and recording MI.
- Monitor individual reviews against procedural targets with appropriate escalation of exceptions.
- Develop and maintain data procedure manuals for contingent purposes.
- Deliver all administrative support in accordance with the established processes and procedures. Provide early warning of any threats to delivery of the periodic reporting within the agreed procedural timeframes
- Through engagement with key stakeholders and the leadership team, design smarter working practices to eliminate duplication and deliver efficiencies. Create, execute, and maintain a plan that fully supports all the teams within SME and delivers “End to End” ownership of core tasks.
- Deliver Management Information (MI) and ad hoc reports across all areas of SME, utilising one data set to enable a consistent approach to reporting.
- Provide technical support and guidance to all internal SME customers.
- Establish a uniform set of reporting standards for all stakeholders across the departments.
- Manage the SME data and MI reporting site to provide one set of reports that aligns all data requirements for internal customers.
- Oversee and maintain the integrity of data outputs.
- Create and manage new reporting requirements across all SME departments.
About you
- Insurance experience within product development or systems.
- An understanding of and/or practical experience using e-trade systems, specific use of the Acturis platform would be beneficial.
- Ability to understand, capture and document business requirements in a structured and efficient manner.
- Ability to engage with business representatives of all levels.
- High level of communication skills.
- Able to challenge constructively on requirements.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to be proactive and work on own initiative.
- Methodical and logical approach to problem solving.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Analytical insight (ability to extrapolate from limited or complex data).
- Proficient use of Excel with excellent attention to detail and ability to achieve high levels of accuracy.
