Training to be provided:
Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard. You will complete a 15-month apprenticeship which includes 12 days at the PETA training centre in Cosham. You will be supported every 6 weeks with visits from your PETA Learning & Development Coach.
About the role:
As a Business Apprentice with Global Marine, you will be responsible for providing the business with excellent sales, project co-ordination, data collation and administration support across all areas of the UJ team. Duties to include, but not limited to:
- Assist the Universal Joint (UJ) team in both product and services sales to ensure the smooth running of the business unit
- Assist by providing admin support to UJ team in Chelmsford. To cover work from the sales order entry/order confirmation through to despatch and invoicing
- To support UJ team with purchasing of project and operational items or services
- Assist the project management function with data collation, documentation updates and co-ordination to ensure the successful delivery of customer projects
- Develop successful working relationships with internal and external customers from various functional areas, work with internal customers to maintain best procurement practise
- Assist in the monitoring, management and generation of reports of the departments KPI’s
- Ensure all work is properly organised and communicated within the department and across the business, involving key stakeholders as appropriate
- Assist in the generation of project reviews to conform with procedure and ensure lessons learnt
There is the possibility for the suitable and successful candidate to move into a full-time role upon completion of the apprenticeship and develop across different business departments.
Essential Skills
- Basic understanding of the sales and project co-ordination processes within an engineering environment at apprenticeship level
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills and the ability to work on own initiative when required
- Ability to influence at all levels within the site organisation
- Good working knowledge of all ‘Microsoft’ applications: particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint
- Should be a good team player that is flexible and can function well under pressure
- Gain an excellent understanding of IFS computer software or similar systems
- Ability to deliver personal KPI targets
- Gain an understanding of engineering projects and their deliverables
- Gain an understanding of the complete cycle of sales from order to delivery
- Gain an understanding of Health & Safety
