Business Sales Developer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Sales Developer to join us at Anstey Wallpaper Company; the home of beautiful, quality wallcoverings (part of the iconic Sanderson Design Group PLC). As Business Sales Developer, you will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth for the organisation by generating new business opportunities and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients. This position involves prospecting, presenting services, negotiating contracts, and achieving sales targets with the purpose of driving sales to achieve the defined sales objectives, whilst maintaining the highest levels of customer service.


With a proud history stretching back more than 100 years, Anstey Wallpaper Company has achieved an enviable reputation as one of the most versatile, professional and capable wallcovering printers in the world. We cover the full spectrum of printing technologies, old and new alike with machines including Surface & Surflex, Flexographic, Gravure, Rotary/Gravure Hybrid, Rotary Screen, Digital, Flat Screen, a Scattering Line, Converting machinery as well as Hand Block Printing.


Responsibilities

Sales Development:

  • Prospect and identify potential clients through various sources, including cold calling, networking, and referrals
  • Conduct research and gather market information to understand customer needs and competition
  • Generate leads, qualify prospects, and maintain a robust sales pipeline

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, serving as their main point of contact
  • Understand clients’ goals, challenges, and requirements to provide tailored solutions
  • Conduct regular check-ins, address client concerns, and provide exceptional customer service

Sales Presentations and Negotiation:

  • Present products or services to potential clients in a persuasive manner
  • Conduct sales demonstrations, showcasing the value and benefits of the offerings
  • Prepare and deliver sales proposals, addressing client needs and aligning with their objectives
  • Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and payment schedules to secure deals

Sales Target Achievement:

  • Track and report sales activities, monitor progress, and adjust strategies as needed
  • Analyse sales data, identify trends, and propose actionable recommendations

Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, customer service and product development to ensure customer satisfaction and meet sales goals
  • Share market insights, competitor information, and customer feedback to contribute to product/service improvement
  • To comply with all health & safety requirements and behavioural safety, leading by example at all times
  • To carry out all other reasonable duties as required


Measures of Success

  • Meet the sales targets of the business
  • Identify and develop sales opportunities within key markets
  • Maintain the highest levels of customer service
  • Lead and motivate the members of the sales and customer services team


Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in sales or a related role, preferably in a target-driven environment
  • Demonstrable track record of success in sales
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Organised and efficient with excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships
  • Persuasive and confident in delivering sales presentations and negotiations
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented with a passion for exceeding targets
  • Able to work on own and use initiative to get the job done
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively to address client needs
  • Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and work well under pressure
  • Qualifications will be reviewed alongside experience and skills such as bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field
