Regional Business Development Manager, Manchester (up to £45,000 plus commission of up to 66%)

About the role
As a Business Development Manager, you will manage a portfolio of media agencies (and possibly some clients) to promote the market leading Immediate Media brands across food, gardening, entertainment, family, and motors. You will have complete freedom to sell the full suite of our offering from print display, digital display, content, social, podcasts, native and partnerships.
The role has been created due to the revenue growth experienced by the team over the last few years, and this position will be part of a restructure to ensure we are able to fully service our agency and client partners.

We are looking for someone who can flip from selling a page in Radio Times, to perfectly crafted content partnership on GoodFood across all platforms, and everything in between.
Don’t worry if you don’t have experience in all platforms, we can ensure you are brought up to speed, but you will need to have some experience of digital advertising in some way shape or form (see requirements).
You will be given the room to be yourself and maximise your territory, but also have the support of your Manchester team (6 team members) plus the London HQ.
As a Business Development Manager you will:
- Maximise the revenue from your designated patch of agencies with a focus on digital first
- Become an expert in our brands and opportunities, and ensure all updates are shared with the relevant external contacts
- Develop a strong relationship with your agency partners and be seen as advisor to help deliver on their campaign needs
- Be active – minimum of 3 meetings per week
- Create proactive opportunities to take to market, as well as promoting established offerings.
- Identify opportunities to grow both our core advertiser revenues and develop revenue from other sectors where our audience sell is strong (e.g. travel, health, family)
- Be an ambassador for Immediate Media at industry events.
- Be strategic – identify the growth opportunities across your client base via your relationships, activity, and use of trade press, Linked In etc.
- Manage your pipeline to help deliver budgets and aid with reporting.
- Work with other departments to ensure the smooth delivery of your campaigns and ensure regular updates shared with clients/agencies.
- Create strong working relationships with our head office in London including several visits per year for training, all hands, celebrations, and team building.
Requirements
- You must have experience of working in either of the following (the more the better):
- Digital ad sales or digital agency role
- Social media sales or agency
- Content partnerships sales or agency
- Print advertising sales or agency (but must have strong digital knowledge)
- Experienced in presenting face to face, on Teams to individuals or small groups
- Be comfortable working in excel, PowerPoint/google docs
- Driving licence
- Ability to be flexible and cover a patch from Birmingham to Edinburgh
- Advantageous to have existing knowledge/contacts in the regional agencies
- Experience of working with salesforce/crm preferable
- An ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and administrative skills
- Knowledge of Google analytics, TGI, Nielsen advantageous
