The Opportunity:
Due to the continued expansion of our services in 2024, we are looking for an excellent Business Development Manager to join our team. The BDM role will generate new business opportunities and develop relationships with commissioning teams, including Integrated Care Services, NHS trusts, local authorities and other stakeholders across Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and further afield.
This role will be focused on promoting our services, driving future business, and overseeing referrals and enquiries, including at the opening of our new PICU ward in 2024. This role has the potential to grow as the organisation continues to.
Requirements:
- Drive awareness of our services through regular communication with appropriate commissioning and bed placement teams
- Build our contact database for future business opportunities
- Oversee new referrals, ensuring the suitability of placements as well as pre-empting discharges and filling any voids
- Prepare reports for the Board and provide regular updates on performance andmarket intelligence
- Work closely with the commercial team to develop our marketing programme
The successful candidate will:
- Possess a good understanding of the mental health care market
- Have experience in building relationships with commissioning teams within the NHS and local authorities and as well as other mental health providers
- Have a high degree of autonomy, capable of working independently and making decisions with limited supervision
- Have great relationship building and negotiation skills – be an excellent communicator via face to face, phone or email
- Strong commercial acumen and competent in understanding and using data to make decisions
