South Bank University Enterprise Ltd, the enterprise company of London South Bank University, is looking for a Business Development Manager for Knowledge Transfer Partnerships to work in the Knowledge Exchange and Innovation team within its Research and Innovation Services Department (RIS). The BDM (KTP) will support the university in achieving its new five-year Research and Enterprise strategic targets for income growth and impact (KEF and REF) by building a successful Knowledge Transfer Partnership portfolio. The successful candidate is expected to build strong relationships across all internal and external stakeholders that will produce winning KTP applications. As a lead on KTP you will drive awareness of KTPs across LSBU and give training accordingly. The BDM for KTP has support from a dedicated finance officer, a marketing campaign for which the role holder will be responsible for setting the remit and support form colleagues across the organisation. With LSBU’s ambitious growth plans in research and knowledge exchange and a culture of enabling and supporting its employees this a great opportunity to develop both personally and career wise. About You: The successful candidate will have a proven track record in securing funded innovation projects with a preference to those candidates who can show KTP experience and success. In addition, a background working in or with the commercial and industrial sector will be an advantage. We are looking to hear from candidates who also have the following skills/experience: Strong technical skills base, with high numeracy, analytical and IT skills, in addition to good written and document design skills. Experience of building and maintaining effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders Good management and organisational skills and attention to detail, not only managing activity in line with agreed outcomes, but going beyond this to identify areas for improvement. Flexible approach to work with the ability to prioritise complex workloads and manage changing priorities, whilst maintaining high standards of quality Experience and success in winning Innovate UK KTP programmes. As well as the KTP work the position requires a collaborative approach with colleagues in Research and Innovation Services and across the schools and PSGs to identify and, where appropriate, develop other Knowledge Exchange opportunities to commercially leverage LSBUs research collateral.
