Job Title: Business Intelligence Manager

Salary: £43,123 to £47,773 per annum pro rata based on 35 hours per week
Contract Type: 12 Months Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Leave)
Could you lead and develops a team of expert analysts who support high-quality decision-making through analysing, visualising, and telling engaging stories with British Red Cross data?
In this role you will champion the use of data and insight in the context of operational and strategic decision-making across our services in the UK.
By leading development of a suite of decision-support tools and data products, you will work with colleagues within each UK service to promote use of the tools, ensure insights are accessible and actionable, identify trends and learning/improvements which can be evidenced through analytics.
A day in the life of a Business Intelligence Manager will involve:
- Pioneering visualisation and storytelling approaches so that we can communicate confidently about British Red Cross’s activities and impact across the UK.
- Working with the Strategic Insight team to show our activities and impact in a wider context to support operational and strategic decision-making, and improve our reputation among commissioners and increase funding for services, especially attracting evidence-savvy donors.
- Leading the development and dissemination of performance monitoring products, including balanced scorecards and cross-cutting reporting.
- Delivering timely, relevant, and engaging analysis of operational performance data (quantitative and qualitative) for service management teams, the UK Leadership Team, and the Executive Leadership Team, among others.
- Working closely with heads of services and other stakeholders to ensure Business Intelligence and other lines of evidence provide actionable insights to drive operational improvement.
- Supporting the Business Intelligence team’s continual development, particularly in aspects of product management such as user research and co-designing solutions.
- Influencing and informing the strategic direction of analytics and reporting at British Red Cross.
- Engaging with Data, Digital & Technology (DDaT) as a subject matter expert on Business Intelligence.
To be a successful Business Intelligence Manager, you’ll need:
- Expert knowledge of organisational performance monitoring and KPI reporting approaches (e.g. theory of change, balanced scorecards).
- Advanced knowledge of data storytelling and visualisation techniques and best practices.
- Good knowledge of product management, especially relating to insight products and tools that support decision-making.
- Comprehensive ability to use Microsoft tools, particularly Power BI, to an expert level.
- Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve shared outcomes.
- Experience of data modelling and data architecture.
- Experience of managing a portfolio of projects and products, ideally which blends longer-term and short-term work.
- An experienced team and person manager, both personally and culturally intelligent.
