About the team
You will be joining the Business Management team of Worldpay’s Merchant Engineering arm, who are responsible for managing several key aspects of the operational effectiveness of the Engineering organisation (circa 3500 headcount globally). Such aspects include; supporting projects for improving operational effectiveness, managing engagement with Procurement, for all matters relating to global staffing of third party resources and non-staff spend, working closely with our Finance Business partners to ensure our operational costs (staff and non-staff) remain in plan and flex as needed, to meet shifting business requirements.
What you will be doing
You will be responsible for a combination of discreet project work and BAU operational processes, in support of the broader Engineering organisation, playing a crucial role in facilitating Engineering’s ability to deliver on its target priorities. Project work will include designing and implementing internal process improvements, such as managing Engineering led demand and project in-take, infrastructure cost management, internal hiring initiatives, people data custodian management and purchased asset request coordination. BAU support responsibilities will include overseeing staff hiring, staff onboarding, purchase requisitions and key data custodian accountability. Further, you will be expected to be proactive and self-managing, as we respond to the shifting needs of the business, as Worldpay continues its journey of separation in partnership with FIS, which will require our team to lean into senior leadership facing support responsibilities, in service of helping structure the business as an independent entity.
Responsibilities include:
Advanced professional individual contributor role with broad understanding of their area of expertise. Resolves complex issues requiring in-depth knowledge and skills. Exercises judgment in decision making, determines approach, methods and procedures to use on new assignments. May coordinate and guide the work of others.
Responsible for all aspects of assigned technical projects. Projects may be focused on development of new or upgraded products and services, internal information system-specific projects that may involve development or enhancement of internal applications, technology integration and/or infrastructure environment build-out, delivery by service teams for outsourced solutions to external clients or delivery of new or enhanced products and/or services to improve customer satisfaction through use of technology.
Elicit, analyse, communicate and validate business/user requirements for processes, policies and information systems. Translate business needs/end-user requirements into functional specifications that describe what the system, process or product/service must do to fulfil the end-user/business requirements.
Formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements.
Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operation time and form of desired results.
Includes analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements and translation into proper system requirement specifications.
Influences business partners and service providers regarding priorities, hardware/software selection and/or vendor selection.
Identifies and documents business strategies, objectives and drivers.
Analyses and documents business processes and metrics and identifies improvement opportunities.
Calculates/estimates costs and benefits of alternative actions or solutions to establish their viability/ROI.
Re-engineers processes to deliver greater effectiveness and efficiency.
Identifies/documents how applications and systems interact to support business processes.
Assesses, applies and projects the impact of system changes on users and internal and external clients or stakeholders.
Uses knowledge of systems and industry requirements to develop or modify complex information systems.
Key skills required:
Strong analytical skills, leveraging data sets and system tools.
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint experience.
Experience in process documentation and executive summary documentation.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Ability to manage senior stakeholders and present to executive groups.
Appetite for supporting BAU activities, where needed.

An effective ability to balance project delivery, in parallel to your own BAU responsibilities.

Experience in SAFe Agile development and delivery.
