Job Title: Business Support Officer - credit control
Location: Hybrid/Hatfield
Starting Salary: £29,269 with the opportunity to progress to £32,076 pa
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

Job Duties:
This is an exciting opportunity to join Hertfordshire Music Service working as part of a great team who provide musical opportunities for all of Hertfordshire’s children and young people, regardless of background or circumstances, to have the opportunity to discover or develop their unique musical voice and express themselves through the language of music.
The HMS ‘Musical Voices’ vision for 2020-30 aims to ensure all young people in Hertfordshire can discover their own unique musical voice as well as HMS becoming a fully inclusive music service.
This role will manage a debt recovery team who, as part of the Operations team, work closely and collaboratively together to support the continued delivery of high-quality musical provision to achieve the aims of the ‘Musical Voices’ vision.
The post holder will manage a team responsible for recovering outstanding debt owed by customers for instrumental and voice lessons.
The postholder will be responsible for running and analysing reports to enable the prioritisation and monitoring of work for their team.
Managing staff within the debt recovery team including day to day supervision, work prioritisation, training, recruitment, performance reviews, objective setting and 1:1’s.
Responding to more challenging and complex customer queries and complaints.
Providing reporting information and preparing and analysing data to support with the team’s debt recovery tasks.
Although prior experience of debt recovery is desirable the essential requirement is for the candidate to have a proven record of strong team management, organisational and communication skills as described below:
Excellent team management and interpersonal skills
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work accurately, independently and diligently
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication styles to manage challenging and sensitive situations
Excellent numeracy skills with the ability to collate and analyse data
MS Office software, in particular Excel.
You will be providing operational support such that children and young people across Hertfordshire can develop their musical voice. You will be working with a very friendly team who provide support to each other with a ‘can do’ attitude where your day will be varied, full and rewarding.
