Sheffield City Council are looking for a Business Support Supervisor to provide efficient and effective financial, clerical, document production, and customer service support to internal and external customers of their Business Strategy department. The role involves day-to-day supervision of Business Support staff and contributing to the smooth operation of business processes.
Day to Day of the role:- Supervise the daily operations of the Business Support team, ensuring efficient service delivery.
- Conduct individual supervision of staff and contribute to recruitment and selection processes.
- Manage the performance of teams and individuals, fostering a productive work environment.
- Maintain and assist with the development of information systems, ensuring accurate data management.
- Handle document production, ensuring quality and adherence to standard formats.
- Arrange and support meetings and events, including diary management and accurate record-keeping.
- Oversee the procurement of goods and services, ensuring adherence to established procedures.
- Maintain financial recording systems and produce information as required.
- Provide excellent customer service, managing telephone enquiries, messages, mail, and personal callers effectively.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of service delivery by monitoring and evaluating processes and procedures.
- Proven experience in supervising and leading a team.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using IT systems for data management and document production.
- Experience in financial processes, including handling petty cash and processing orders/invoices.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with a diverse range of customers and stakeholders.

- Knowledge of current Council policies and procedures, including health and safety, equalities, diversity and inclusion, and safeguarding procedures.
