Business Unit Director, UK Oncology

  • Based from the Maidenhead office with 3/2 Flexible working model.
  • Reporting to the VP & General Manager of AbbVie UK and part of the Affiliate Leadership Team

The role:

The core purpose of this role is to lead the commercial operations for AbbVie’s Oncology portfolio of products, maximising sales revenue through the leadership of the overall division’s strategy. Leading a large commercial team, the position is responsible for directing and developing a co-ordinated, talented, diverse set of BUMs, marketing and sales professionals at a number of levels to consistently deliver high performance.


Highlighted responsibilities:

  • Full P&L responsibility and effective management for the division: translating business insights into financial assumptions
  • Sales, marketing and medical resource requirements determination for existing and emerging brands
  • Development of new models and structures for our evolving environment, building knowledge of external strategic changes
  • Visionary leadership of the commercial team, growing people and empowering future leaders
  • Having a 360 view of all brands within portfolio: integrating internal and external perspectives
  • Having an in-field mindset and managing matrix interactions effectively

Qualifications


Experience & Behaviors

  • Extensive senior sales and marketing experience in an affiliate commercial team.
  • Working knowledge of Haematology and/or Oncology is essential.
  • Proven track record of leading multi-disciplinary teams successfully
  • Strong track record of in-field leadership with demonstrable results
  • Marketing experience at an Area or Global level strongly preferred.
  • Experience of launching new products.
  • Highly strategic and patient oriented.
