A great opportunity has arisen with our client, a designer and manufacturer of state-of-the-art scientific equipment, to join their purchasing team in the role of Buyer. This role is initially offered on a Fixed Term Contract basis of 6 - 9 months (with the possibility of permanent employment).

The purpose of the role is to procure parts and materials to ensure on time delivery.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Purchase order creation and management.
• Ensuring parts arrive in line with materials planning requirements.
• Contributing to the monitoring of supplier performance.
• Achievement of Departmental material cost down requirements.
• Implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies and procedures.
• Contribute to supplier KPI measurement.
• Maintain good communication and working relations with various internal departments to meet company objectives.
• Ensure compliance with all business regulatory requirements, eg, ISO 13485, ROHS.
• Contribute to achieving departmental cost down targets as set by and agreed with the Purchasing Manager.
• Facilitate delivery & invoicing queries

They are looking for someone with strong Purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment along with a strong demonstrable knowledge of cost down techniques.
