Calibration Engineer - Force & Torque
Monday - Friday: 40 hours per week (daily start/finish times negotiable)
Salary: £25,000 to £32,000. D.O.E
My client is a well-established Construction Materials Testing and Structural investigation organization within the construction and civil engineering sector. They require a Calibration Engineer to join their friendly, supportive, and forward-thinking team. This a Monday to Friday role working out of there UKAS accredited laboratory based in Chesterfield, which offers a wide range of calibration tests, including Dimensional, Electrical, Mass, Force & Torque across many types of instrumentation.
They are looking for a diligent and organised Calibration Engineer to perform calibrations in our UKAS accredited laboratory.
Responsibilities will include.
- Responsible to the Calibration Business Unit Manager shall ensure that laboratory activities are carried out expediently, efficiently and safely at all times.
- Sign UKAS Certificates (if Applicable).
- Meet deadlines for customers work and assigned tasks.
- Assist with maintaining laboratory maintenance.
- Produce and maintain laboratory procedures and uncertainty budgets.
- Use the preferred software in accordance with company procedures to ensure the correct processing of items through the laboratory.
- Liaise with customers to understand and satisfy their requirements in a professional manner.
- Engage in laboratory progression.
- Maintain electronic filing system.
- Any other general calibration / laboratory duties.
- Be aware of and comply with the company Health and Safety policies at all times.
- Be aware of and comply with the company Quality Manual at all times.
- Commitment to Impartiality & Confidentiality.
Experience required:
- Education / training in Mechanical Engineering.
- Relevant training in metrology and calibration activities.
- Experience working in a UKAS accredited laboratory.
- Experience working within the field of metrology.
- Understanding of BS ISO 17025.
Desirable Skills;
- Hands on calibration experience in at least one of the following fields: Force / Torque.
- Ability to review and adopt best practice and seek out continuous improvement.
- Able to train, coach and mentor other members of the team to support the laboratory.
- IT Literate - including Microsoft Office.
- Keen to learn new skills.
- Work well within a team and individually.
