The role offers the unique opportunity to work in close collaboration with other teams in Azure Research, Microsoft Research (MSR), Microsoft 365 and the Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC).
The candidate will have freedom to shape their research agenda on topics related to understanding, measuring, and mitigating security and privacy attacks against Machine Learning systems. The candidate will work together with researchers and product teams alike to develop novel techniques based on this research and apply them in real-world scenarios.

Qualifications
- Background in machine learning and deep learning; working knowledge of state-of-the-art large language models.
- Familiarity with state-of-the-art practices and methodologies in security and privacy such as differential privacy, membership inference attacks, information flow control, etc.
- Track record of top-tier research, as evidenced by publications in venues such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, SP, CCS, ACL, EMNLP, etc.
- Capability of rapid and accurate prototyping in Python.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications:
- Experience in working with product teams is a plus.
