The Team: The Voluntary Carbon Market pricing and market reporting team is a global, highly collaborative team made of curious and proactive reporters. Reporters sit in London, Gurgaon (Delhi) and Houston. We value collaboration, curiosity, desire to investigate and understand market trends in depth, a sense of urgency and the ability to capture changes in market dynamics quickly and ahead of competitors.
Responsibilities and Impact:
- Publish daily price assessments according to methodology;
- Write market commentaries and rationales, provide daily coverage of market trends, record podcast and other digital content describing key fundamental market drivers moving prices
- Drive development of new assessments in line with market developments
- Drive customer meetings to learn about important issues facing market participants and translate to new products or adjustments to Platts offerings
- Work in partnership with internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to Platts Editorial Standards
- Serve as an internal and external ambassador for Platts Energy Transition offerings and ambitions
- You'll be part of a team that produces actionable and informative content in the fast-growing and hugely relevant Energy Transition space.
- You'll have exposure to policy markers and market leaders worldwide. You'll be actively contributing to structuring and designing pioneering Carbon Markets through price assessments methodologies.
- We aspire to have relevant price benchmarks around the world that will be vital to our customers as they provide price transparency. The content created by the team will inform customers regarding supply and demand developments, commodity flows, price trends, and infrastructure and regulatory issues and help develop a community around Platts Energy Transition coverage.
- We are looking for someone who is curious about energy and Carbon Markets, able to work within deadlines, can handle multiple tasks, is proactive and have a sense of urgency. They should be responsible and accountable, and work to create a positive and collaborative work environment. It is vital they are adept at market engagement and comfortable representing Platts Carbon externally.
- Graduate degree in journalism, finance, economics, environmental or related sciences
- A working understanding of the Energy Transition
- Price assessment or financial market coverage experience
- Some industry experience such as a market reporting, new reporting, or analytical background
- Working understanding of commodity markets
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Team player
