Triple Wimbledon champion Fred Perry founded his brand in 1952. He was the son of a cotton spinner who played and fought his way through, always with style and despite the establishment. Today, Fred Perry is a global community of over 370 employees, all inspired by the Laurel Wreath and what it represents.
PURPOSE:
The primary purpose of the Copywriter and Brand Reporter role is to create engaging, creative, and consistent copy for all Fred Perry communication channels.
They are responsible for all product-related copy, from the quarterly exhibition brochures through the launch online, on social media, and in-store, where applicable.
Please note that this is a maternity cover position on a fixed-term contract for up to 12 months.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
EXHIBITIONS
- Responsible for writing and overseeing the writing of all product-related copy for our quarterly exhibition product brochures.
SOCIAL AND ECOMMERCE
- Responsible for ensuring the key brand stories and copy filter through to our websites for launch online and across our channels (paid and organic social, email marketing, site copy, press releases).
- Responsible for communicating product design and construction details, fabric, fit, and care, and all responsibility features on our digital channels.
- Supporting editorial content—editing and working with the relevant teams to publish.
PHYSICAL
- Support the Fred Perry Stores and Customer Services teams with any customer-facing communication.
OVERSEEING FREELANCERS
- Responsible for freelance copy support. Overseeing and reviewing product copy written by freelance copywriters across social media, email, and the web.
GENERAL
- Use data to improve SEO performance, engagement, and KPIs.
- Support the brand editor with top-line stories, strategic projects, and quarterly presentations when needed.

- Curious, with the ability to effectively translate technical design details and niche subjects for a global audience.
HOURS:
We actively encourage our teams to have a good work-life balance, and so we are pleased to offer flexible working shifts at Fred Perry HQ. Our core shift hours are from 10 a.m. to 4.30 p.m., so employees can choose to start and finish early or start and finish late. (i.e. work 8:00am-4:30pm, or 10:00am-6:30pm etc). We also have a 30-minute early finish on Fridays.
As we continue to work in a more flexible way, the head office acts as a brand hub, where we can all connect and collaborate with one another. This role is a mix of office-based (London) and remote working. We will expect the employee to come into the office regularly for face-to-face meetings and to work alongside their team on collaborative projects.
