Form of work Ocean Healthcare are looking for an experienced *Healthcare Assistant* to support a lady in her 40’s who is unwell with Long Covid. She has Type 1 Diabetes, some loss of sight and has recently had a leg amputated. She is currently aided by a walking frame and is awaiting a prosthetic leg, occasionally she will require a wheelchair. She lives downstairs in her own house, in Torquay, while she awaits some adaptability changes.
This remarkable woman is looking to regain some form of ‘normality’ in her life. She likes to go to Church and would like to spend more time with her family. She would also like to get out into the community to go shopping and carry out her everyday tasks.
*You will be working 2:1 (1x HCA & 1 x RGN)*
The ideal candidate would be a resilient, seasoned carer with a solid understanding of personal care, and experience with moving and handling. More than 1 years’ experience in Care along with experience with Diabetes and Sight Loss would be preferred.
*You need to be an experienced carer.* It is not essential that you have specific experience working with complex needs as you will get all the training you need. You will be trained and supported by our outstanding team of specialists and nurses. This will involve training and shadowing until one of our nurses is happy to sign you off as competent. *Training is paid for.*
*Pay Rates*:
* *£13.50 p/hr Monday - Friday*
* *£16.05 p/hr Saturday - Sunday*
* *£19.05 p/hr Bank Holidays*
*Shifts:*
*8am – 8pm, 7 Days Per Week Available*
It's vital that we have staff consistency and so you will be required to pick up a minimum number of shifts. You will be able to pick up more shifts each week if you would like to. Weekday shifts and Weekend shifts are available. Flexibility would be appreciated, but we are willing to consider your personal circumstances if there are days/times you are unable to work.
*Full mileage paid from home to this location in Torquay up to a maximum of 20 miles each way.*
