The role involves carrying out direct support to people ranging from those who need full care and support to those needing prompting and or little assistance with all aspects of their daily lives. The post holder will undertake a range of activities under supervision, ensuring they are adhering to the company policies and procedures, and a persons care and support plan.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working under the registered nurse/senior staff in order to support people in accordance with their agreed plan of care;
- Help promote and maintain an environment conducive to meeting the needs of the people we support / relatives and carers;
- Contribute to a team approach to care in conjunction with all members of the multidisciplinary team and Nursing / Residential environment;
- Contribute to the legality and accuracy of care plans and or other reports and the effectiveness of the established communication /reporting system over the full 24hrs;
- Participate in regular meetings and attend other meetings as requested;
- Undertake tasks and procedures, in which competency has been assessed and recorded specific to the care environment;
- complete training and remain compliant with mandatory refresher courses;
- Provide support and assistance to other staff;
- All team members are responsible for behaving in a manner that does not put themselves or anyone else in danger or at risk in the care environment;
- To assist in the maintenance of home cleanliness and tidiness and adhere to infection control policy and procedures at all times;
- To assist the people supported to ensure they have the opportunity to meet their individual dietary requirements. Ensuring all people receive choice and have control over their choices;
- To receive and convey information from telephone or personal enquiries in a courteous manner and ensure all persons visiting the home are greeted and assisted in a welcoming and supportive manner;
- To assist and support registered nurses/senior staff and clerical staff in administrative duties as required;
3 months minimum of UK experience in a health care and or social care role.
We are not able to offer COS.
