About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an Administration Assistant to join the Careers Team in providing essential administration. Within this role you will be supporting the team with compliance for placements offers and servicing all internal meetings accurately and efficiently.
The Careers team support students and recent graduates to secure a positive graduate outcome once their studies have been completed. Careers provide impartial and confidential advice and guidance to individuals at all stages of their career journey.
The careers team is made up of three sub-teams:
- Careers Adviser Team
- Employer Engagement Team
- Student and Community Engagement Team
This role will provide administrative support across the whole Careers team, acting as the first point of contact for staff, students and other stakeholders. Under the direction of the Careers Administration Manager, the post holder will be responsible for reviewing administrative procedures and office management systems, effectively utilizing technology to enhance and streamline processes to improve the student experience.
You will also have specific responsibility for all aspects of placement activities including undertaking placement validation and compliance checks, coordinating the DBS application process and administering monies allocated from our Student Opportunity Fund.

About You
As Careers Administration Assistant, you will have:
- Experience in the use of IT, specifically Microsoft Office with advanced Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
- Previous experience of placement validation administration and compliance
- Ability to work quickly under pressure and to tight deadlines whilst maintaining meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication and customer care skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently both internal and external
- Ability and willingness to use own initiative with minimal supervision to solve problems efficiently and effectively
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to collate, analyse and handle complex and highly sensitive data and information in accordance with Data Protection Act
- Work effectively and inclusively with a range of people, both within and outside of the organisation
