Responsibilities of a Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a joinery professional to share your knowledge and expertise influencing the next generation of skilled carpenters.
- Within this role the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering outstanding teaching and assessment up to Level 3 which includes study programmes, adult programmes and apprenticeships within Carpentry and Joinery, in both a workshop and classroom environment.
- The role of lecturer is to equip our students with skills for their future through the delivery of outstanding education and training and inspire students to achieve their potential.
- The key roles of a Lecturer are to deliver excellent teaching, completing the relevant preparation and marking that supports this, and to set SMART targets to enable students to reach their potential.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Level 3 or equivalent qualification in teaching subject area.
- Experience interacting with 16–19-year-olds in education or apprentice setting.
- Level 2 or equivalent in English and Maths
- Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for one
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching qualification i.e. AET, PTLLS, PGCE, certificate in education
- Assessors’ qualification i.e. A1, D33/D34, CAVA, TAQA, IQA
