At the RSPCA, we care deeply about animals with a vision of a world where all animals are respected and treated with kindness and compassion. We ensure that animals have a good life by rescuing and caring for those in need, by advocating on their behalf and by inspiring everyone to treat them with compassion and respect. In this, our 200th anniversary year, the future of our organisation and our ambitions, have never been brighter, powered by our passionate and committed team of over 1,700 staff and more than 5000 volunteers, alongside our bold and ambitious new strategy to lead us to 2030.
Having undergone a significant period of transformation, we have made huge strides in recent years towards making ourselves a more resilient and robust organisation, with the sustainable finances, the agility and the positive, inclusive culture to respond to our challenging operational environment.
In such a complex, high-profile organisation, ensuring our governance arrangements are future proofed and continue to evolve remains one of our top priorities. We are therefore seeking to appoint a Chair of our Governance and Nominations Committee, to act as a catalyst for change, enhancing all aspects of our governance, enabling us to demonstrate the highest standards of Governance and leadership, helping us to deliver our mission and to become an exemplar charity.
To be successful in this role you will be a skilled chair, coach and facilitator, with tact, diplomacy and gravitas. You will have a sophisticated understanding of good Governance and board development and a demonstrable track record of organisational change. A working knowledge of the charity governance code, charity regulations, risk and compliance would be beneficial.
This is a wonderful opportunity to play a significant role at an exciting time of change, in an organisation that holds a very special place in the heart of all those concerned with animal welfare, across England, Wales and beyond. If you feel you have the drive, skills and experience to help us achieve the improvements we are seeking to make please visit our website to read the appointment brief for more information and how to apply.
