Campbell Tickell are pleased to be recruiting to the roles of Chair and Board Members at Populo Living.

We build great homes for the people of Newham, while both keeping land under council ownership and adding genuine social value.
100% owned by Newham Council, we are an innovative property and housing company that is building homes to help solve the housing crisis. Our new developments include 50% affordable housing, a ratio we are able to achieve through strong in-house development expertise and an unrelenting focus on commerciality. We have built 800 homes to date and have 700 with planning permission to be delivered in next 2 years. Our current portfolio includes a mix of c.250 affordable homes, both rented and leasehold, managed by our RP subsidiary Populo Homes, as well as direct to market rental properties.
We are seeking a new Chair and two new Board members:
As Chair of the Board, your understanding of our operating environment, prior NED experience and ability to influence stakeholders will equip you with the skills and gravitas to lead and support the organisation while maximising our external relationships with the Council and elsewhere. You may bring local or central government experience, or skills gained from a development/ housebuilding organisation or developing housing organisation. − For one of the Board member roles, we seek a senior level of understanding of at least one aspect of building and renting homes in a commercial environment. For the other, we are open to NEDs who come with transferable skills in other areas, in e.g. IT or Marketing.
Given how quickly Populo has grown from a start-up, we are looking for Board members who are interested in evolving the company, and you should be excited to add value with for example one-off task and finish groups as needed, in-person mentoring, and joining site visits etc.
