POSITION: Chapter Head Propulsion Software Integration

WHAT TO EXPECT
The Senior Manager for Propulsion Control Systems Integration is responsible for the co-ordinated delivery of the customer features and systems for either xHEV or BEV propulsion applications on both EVA2 & EVA-25 electrical architecture, achieving programme milestones from conception up to engineering sign-off for Job 1. The Senior Manager for Propulsion Control Systems Integration with lead either an xHEV or BEV team to co-ordinate and align Propulsion software delivery plans to ensure that features and functions are delivered to meet vehicle program requirements. This includes end-to-end planning of complex features, involving multiple delivery areas, to break down and align their sprint and product increment targets so that the features arrive and mature in a phased and controlled way. The Senior Manager for Propulsion Control Systems Integration will also need keep the business leaders and stakeholders fully appraised of all Feature KPIs – e.g., feature design progression, introduction status, major issues and resolution plans, as well as assisting with issue resolution and resolving impediments across the business as needed to enable on-time delivery.  There is also responsibility for Chapter leads who are focused on best practice and skills across SW Quality, ASPICE, UNECE R155 & R156 process, issues management and Integration End to End process.

 

THE ROLE
Key Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure that robust integration plans are in place and maintained for your xHEV or BEV programmes – highlight and resolve conflicts across engineering teams.  Identify and communicate critical paths and dependencies within the vehicle program plan.
  • Ensure timely delivery of vehicle features, identifying and removing any roadblocks that could prevent success.
  • Engage delivery areas to align feature delivery and functional goals with program milestones, gaining alignment of goals of quarterly and sprint planning across all dependency areas.
  • Lead resolution of key integration issues within and 8D problem resolution framework.
  • Comprehensive and co-ordinated reporting of status vis the consolidated ‘Integration Report’
  • Drive feature maturity status to target level for key programme milestones.
  • Align life-cycle overview of program feature content – including over the air updates.
  • Employ Agile working practices.
  • Leadership across a team of Integration Group Product Owners, Chapter Leads, Integration leads, release leads, issues leads and verification engineers, providing coaching and development to forward their development.
  • Driving common process across the team to manage the integration activity.
  • Alignment with related groups across the JLR Engineering and wider organisation

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience

 

  • Experience in the integration and delivery of electromechanical and software systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to engineering products using project management and planning techniques.
  • Experience in technical analysis and problem solving, employing best in class process.
  • Experience in successfully managing a team.
  • Excellent knowledge of propulsion and key vehicle systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of systems engineering and test management.
  • Ability to interpret technical data and make technical decisions.
  • Experienced in project delivery throughout entire lifecycle. 
  • Team leadership and management skills.
  • Experience in managing SW projects.
  • Ability to build strong, valuable relationships at all levels of the business.
  • Ability to work under demanding programme and business constraints.
  • Project management tools, including AGILE & JIRA.
