WHAT TO EXPECT

A central role in JLR’s transformation into a skills-based company and the continued development of Electrified Propulsion systems. As part of Propulsion’s Software chapter group, working as the HV Power Electronics ControlChapter Lead you will be central to developing and deploying capability into delivery of HV Power Electronics Control across different platforms. This will include strategically critical deliveries across our High Voltage Power Electronics Control systems for both Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) and all Hybrid Electric Vehicles (xHEV).

Working in conjunction with our HV Power Electronics Technical Specialist you will define and own the capability roadmap and technology roadmap closely collaborating with associated chapters across Engineering. The chapter will incubate capability including third party engagements to ensure JLR has the capability to deliver on it’s quality, integrity, traceability and agility targets. Activity will be international, leveraging our footprint in India and European partners.   

As the HV Power ElectronicsChapter Lead you will be responsible for the coaching, mentoring and career growth of a group of Engineers and their allocation to Agile product squads.  You will ensure design and development processes, methods and engineering tools are best in class and formalised, facilitating knowledge sharing and consistent delivery.  

You’ll have the opportunity to be involved in the development of future HV Power Electronics commodities and will be influential in the development of HV Power Electronics Control design across programmes.  You will possess an excellent technical project delivery background, ability to develop and mentor individuals and teams and have a very strong understanding of  Power Electronics technologies and processes with particular focus on Electrified Propulsion Systems.  

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities 

Your key accountabilities and responsibilities will be to establish and grow the HV Power Electronics Control Chapter, Recruitment and Upskilling in line with business needs, body of knowledge and linked training material, Tool chain capability and deployment (in conjunction with central chapter). Responsibilities will also include the delivery of initial high Integrity software for lead EMA/MLA/JEA applications working with external suppliers, thorough understanding of both internal and external customer attribute and technology requirements, and development of process and reports to ensure consistent and robust delivery of their technology or attribute.
