We need Warehouse & Sorting Volunteers to help in our ‘back-office' areas and Charity Shop Warehouses and day to day operational function. This free’s up our staff’s time to allow them to focus on supporting those that are isolated or lonely in ME5, to become more connected with their communities.
This is a good opportunity to find out more about the breadth and depth of the work carried out by not-for-profit organisations in Medway; to develop your communication skills, knowledge and valuable work experience and knowledge.
Our Warehouse & Sorter Volunteers are responsible for organising, categorising, and separating products and materials that have been donated to GSA. Most of this will take place in our Chatham Warehouse, although sometimes they may be required to work ’back of house’ from one of our charity stores.
Duties Include:
- Sorting items and separating them into designated categories or venues.
- Inspecting, packing and labelling products for shipment.
- Perform warehouse functions including order picking, packing, and assembly of product.
- Communicate and perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions.
- Ensuring all assigned duties are accomplished safely and timely.
- Perform cleaning duties and general housekeeping as required.
- Participate in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company and our causes.
Please note this work is physically strenuous and involves a lot of manual handling. A good state of physical health is needed.
We offer full training and a positive work environment. If you are a motivated individual with a passion for the causes we support, we would love to hear from you.
Please note that only eligible candidates will be contacted for an interview.
