Chemist - Shildon

As a Chemist, you will help develop new products and provide technical support to the global business, with respect to both operational and customer requests.

Working hours:

08:00-16:00 Mon-Fri

Key Responsibilities

· Lead and participate in the development of new products.

· Engineer/modify existing products to meet customer requirements within current and future environmental legislation.

· Meet with customers to resolve issues and discuss future programs.

· Provide advice and recommendations to other departments and customers to assist in solving potential problems and queries.

· Carry out other work as required according to Task request system.

· Input formulations into site MRP system.

· Make decisions regarding adjustment and release of production batches, raw material selection and substitution and modification of internal product specifications.

· Meet with suppliers to discuss new materials or problems with existing materials.

· Support quality department in resolution of customer complaints.

· Carry out daily responsibilities relating to EHS, 5S and any other company initiatives.

Qualifications

· Undergraduate/Masters degree or qualified through relevant experience (Crucial)!

· Scientific knowledge, particularly chemistry based (Crucial)!

· Ability to formulate coatings & sealants (Desirable).
