Leading our Civil Engineering Technical Standards & Audits in Hampshire
Engineering Services is looking for a highly motivated Engineer to join its senior management team. Engineering Services sits within our Universal Services department. We are a forward-thinking in-house consultancy providing a range of services to the County Council, developers, contractors and other public authorities. This includes design, laboratory testing, site supervision and project/contract management from the early stages of a project through to supervision of construction.
As the Chief Engineer, you will lead the Technical Standards & Road Agreements section, overseeing the consultancy’s core technical expertise and safety and sustainable transport auditing services, including the County Highways Laboratory and the three teams Highway Development Agreements, NMU & Safety Audit and Technical Innovation. You will lead our department's involvement in research into low carbon and sustainable materials, support solutions which promote active travel and oversee a service that offers guidance and technical approval for changes to Hampshire’s adoptable highway. You’ll have experience in the business operations, strategic planning and management of a technical service which has supported the delivery of transport highway infrastructure within the construction industry. You will also have strong relationship management skills and an ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of peers, colleagues, customers and stakeholders.
