This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in a newly created role.
Parkinson’s UK is a charity with an income of £38m and in a strong position to invest in our future ambition.
Guided by the Parkinson’s community, we’ve shaped our strategy ‘Every Parkinson’s Journey’ for 2023 to 2026. A key element of our approach is to use the money we have in the charity’s reserves to improve services for people with Parkinson’s and accelerate our research agenda.
We're a growing organisation with complex operations, major parts of which are in a phase of significant transition. To deliver these most effectively, we brought together our financial management and operations together into one directorate in July 2023. To reflect the growingdemand on expertise, the finance team’s capacity has increased and there is a real opportunity to develop the role of this team within the charity.
As a senior member of the Parkinson's UK Executive Leadership Team (ELT), and working closely with the CEO you will drive and deliver the charity’s financial, operational and technological strategies which are fundamental to ensure we can deliver the impact and changes we want for our community.
You will lead our planning, performance and programme management functions to ensure we are well informed and can challenge where needed and provide an effective framework for good governance and
risk management so that the right balance of risk can be effectively managed across the charity.
Interested? We’d love to hear from candidates who can demonstrate the following:
- Proven experience as a high-performing director at board level, in an organisation of a comparative size and have a strong track record of driving forward and delivering strategic financial planning and performance, data and technology strategies
- Experience of managing complex cross directorate change programmes and able to identify areas for operational improvements and cost efficiencies
- Strong business acumen and commercial awareness to challenge assumptions and deliver on business objectives with gravitas to challenge and hold colleagues to account in respect of performance against our ambitions/goals
