Job description

It’s an exciting time to be joining York Museums Trust.

Our collection and our estates are extraordinary, documenting a City continually occupied for over 2000 years. York has always been a diverse City, and our place as a public-facing institution in this vibrant ecology enables us to work in partnership across many sectors. As an institution we seek to grow, to deepen connections with audiences and to embed a passion for culture, for history, for art and for storytelling in York and North Yorkshire.

We are at a crucial moment in our development, and we are looking for a new CFO to take the reigns from Paul Lambert as he retires. The new postholder will join a team of talented and dedicated colleagues, united in their ambition to lead a flourishing organisation to serve future generations. We need someone who can think big, but hold the detail, who embraces change and can take people with them.

We need a brilliant accountant, an innovative project leader and someone who sees and can capitalise on the opportunities afforded by a historic estate.

Closing date for applications is 23:59 on Sunday 4th February 2024

Interviews are to take place on Tuesday 20th February 2024
