- Accountable for: Trust Finance Managers, School Finance Teams, MAT & Schools Finance Function
We are looking to appoint a dedicated and forward-thinking Chief Financial Officer to provide strong financial leadership within a successful Multi-Academy Trust.
The Heath Family Trust operates across the North West of England, with three secondary and five primary schools in Halton, Knowsley and Sefton.
Our Executive Leaders work closely with school leaders to provide support and challenge - with the aim being that the partnership acts as a catalyst to our schools achieving their aims and ambitions.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Senior Leadership Team to oversee all aspects of finance within the Trust and ensure that an appropriate financial policy framework is in place to guide the Trust’s financial decision making.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone commercially astute with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, able to make decisions based on accurate and appropriate analysis.
Our ideal candidate will have strong business acumen and extensive experience in budget management and forecasting and have high ethical standards and influencing skills with the ability to engage effectively with all staff across the Trust and with the Trust Board.
Experience of working with and leading high-performing teams and a clear understanding of how to run highly efficient central services in support of an organisation’s mission is essential to the role.
We require an individual with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels whilst working across a range of sites, able to influence and pursue challenging and rigorous questions.
The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for:
- Overall performance of the finance function, including line management of the finance team.
- Providing strategic management and leadership of the financial and commercial operations and performance of The Heath Family (NW).
- Implementation, development and delivery of the Trust’s Improvement Plan and be a catalyst for driving effectiveness across the Trust.
- Attendance and full contribution to the Trust’s Business, Finance & Audit Committee.
