We are pleased to be opening our second residential home for children and young people in the Leicester Oadby area. Those placed with us will be diagnosed with Intellectual Disabilities/Autism, they may have communication difficulties, present some behaviours that challenge and may require personal care. Our second home is for two young people with further expansion later in the year. Our aim is to make a difference in the lives of the young people and their families.
Job Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team, we have posts for Residential Care workers, Waking night and Senior roles . As a Care Worker, you will provide essential care and support to individuals in their own homes. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Experience:
- Experience working with children or in childcare settings is preferred
- Basic IT skills for documentation purposes
- Familiarity with creating and following care plans
- Valid driver's license (preferred) and reliable transportation
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Duties:
- Assist with daily support such as bathing, dressing, and routines
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding if necessary
- Administer medication according to care plans
- Provide companionship and engage in meaningful conversations to enhance communication skills.
- Assist with housekeeping tasks such as laundry, tidying up and cleaning.
- Accompany young people to appointments or social outings
- Monitor and report any changes in young people’s needs to the appropriate supervisor
The role includes day to day practical work with the young people, running the house and administrative tasks. Due to the needs of those placed with us good communication skills are essential.
We are seeking experienced staff, qualified preferred, however for those new to residential work, will expect completion of their level 3 diploma qualification within two years of starting.
The role is based around shift work including sleep ins and includes weekend working and bank holidays in a fair distribution across the team. We are also recruiting for our established home which is based in the Leicestershire Enderby area.
Rates of pay
Unqualified Children’s Residential Care Worker - £11.44 per hour increasing to £11.94 after successfully completing probationary period
Qualified Children’s Residential Care Worker - £12.36 per hour increasing to £12.86 after successfully completing probationary period
Senior Children's Residential Care Worker - £13.36 increasing to £13.86 after successfully completing probationary period
Waking Nights unsocial hours - £12.36 going to £12.86 unqualified/ £13.36 going to £13.86 once qualified
Sleep ins £60 per night
Approved overtime once contracted hours are completed plus £5 per hour over normal rate
