Job Role: Children's Team Manager in Lewisham
Team Manager required for Assessment & Kinship Team (6 Months Maternity Cover) Connected Persons and Special Guardianship Orders (SGO) Assessment Team Team Manager - full time / maternity cover 6 months We are seeking an appropriately skilled and experienced social worker, who has proven experience of staff supervision and management , to lead the Connected Persons and Special Guardianship Orders (SGO) Assessment Team covering the period whilst the substantive post holder is on parental leave. Lewisham’s Sufficiency Strategy prioritises placing looked after children and young people within their family and friends’ network. Thorough assessments of SGO applicants is critical to support more children to safely live with these carers. The Connected Persons and SGO Assessment Teamwork work in partnership with children’s and fostering social work teams, to assess and support families caring
for children under Regulation 24, who are seeking to be the children’s permanent carers, in the event the children cannot return to their parents’ care.

As a Social worker you must have a degree in Social work with a minimum 2 years post qualifying experience and passed your AYSE, experience in an NHS Establishment or a local authority is desirable.
To act in accordance with SWE registration requirements and Code of Conduct for exercising accountability and professional practice.
To provide professional Social work assessments to support the commissioning process in line with care management and continuing care.

Previous experience and/or qualifications in Social work are essential to apply for this role.
