Our client is a leading, well established manufacturing company based in Oldham and part of a larger global organisation.

Job Description

The CI Manager is responsible for leading the development and execution of the Continuous Improvement Roadmap leading to breakthrough improvement activities across the site. Responsibilities include overseeing, facilitating, training, tracking and driving CI throughout the site. Success in this role is the creation of a co-operative culture of continuous improvement; developing and deploying annual CI programs that will fully support the business strategies and improve performance; a focus on resolving critical business issues; identifying and developing tool champions; action plans; and by motivating and empowering employees to continuously improve and grow the business.
· Ensure compliance to CI philosophies by acting as a general consultant to all management and supervisors
· Develop and align the site Improvement Roadmap to deliver breakthrough business improvements
· Lead and facilitate kaizen events to achieve strategic business targets in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost and Growth
· Become lean Tool Champion certified in nominated fields, ie TPM, Standard Work for flow, TPI, VSM, MRS etc
· Create personnel kaizen training and development roadmap for Management Team and key individuals.
· Train and educate Value Stream personnel and other functional areas in the application of the Tools of the CI system
· Provide support and expert knowledge in developing core kaizen Tool Champions for the site.
· Provide ongoing audits to assess CI progress
· Maintain and ensure timely completion of CI self-assessments.
· Work with the Finance Team to evaluate the results of our P&L from the kaizen event schedule and other continuous improvements across the site.
· To actively promote and take a direct role in the use of continuous improvements throughout the Company across all functions (CI is everyone and everywhere)
· Provide support on CI activities outside Manchester site as a when required.
· To undertake training and development as required
· Ensure compliance with company policy, business unit policy, safety and quality program requirements.
· Develop and drive the site productivity reporting, working with responsible managers across the business to track site savings. Develop a process to capture productivity savings via the funnel.
· Execute to achieve key operating goals for safety, quality, on time delivery and lead time.
· Ensure technical knowledge and understanding of available products, systems and services is maintained at the highest level.

The Successful Applicant

You will bring work experience in CI / Continuous Improvement Operations roles with well demonstrated success in excellent negotiation, relationship management and influencing skills at all levels of the business.
Qualifications and Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in management/technical field or equivalent experience
· Proven experience in a lean improvement role within manufacturing, in a recent permenent role.
· Proven knowledge and implementation of kaizen and lean tools and associate principles
· Knowledge of core APQP toll such as DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA & SPC
· Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis Tools
· Proven achievement of positive impact to the bottom linePersonal Attributes
· Motivational leadership through effective influencing skills
· Problem Solving: You can solve problems with structure and teach at the same time.
· Financial and commercial acumen
· Ability to build relationships at all levels, understands the audience, how to communicate and build the conversation.
