Job description

AXA Insurance Central Fraud Team is recruiting a Claims Fraud Governance and Controls Analyst to support governance on our fraud management activities. You’ll ensure that risk management control gaps are minimised by working with our SME, Supplier and counter fraud teams utilising audit outputs, conducting oversight assessments and performing fraud risk analysis to develop our fraud controls.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Management and utilisation of fraud loss measurement methodologies to assess our paid fraud exposure to drive ongoing continuous improvement in our fraud controls and provide input and guidance to future fraud detection.
  • Review, develop, manage, document and testing our fraud control framework supporting both Retail and Commercial SBU and covering both internal and external service areas. 
  • Delivery of operational oversight and governance of our key fraud management activities, to include tracking of our KRI’s and reporting on key functional outputs, such as our loading and engagement with industry data sets that our key to fraud management (CUE, IFR, IFI HUB, IFED etc). 
  • Ensure that all our fraud management activities are undertaken in a compliant way, and that all relevant business requirements are met and supported, with a direct focus on data privacy and security, to include responsibility for management of our MFDPIA/use case DPIA’s/LIA etc.
  • Support and ensure delivery of audit actions emanating from both internal and external audit reviews as part of our continuous development and risk management framework working with the audit and fraud teams across the business.
  • Fraud representation and engagement with business risk teams to report and track key fraud risks, undertake mitigation actions and other activity associated with their management and resolution. 
  • Support key strategic fraud projects ensuring Governance and fraud risk management is appropriately managed and considered within the design and delivery.

This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.

Your Profile

What we’re looking for:

  • Application Experience of managing fraud in a claims environment the key types of fraud affecting claims handled across AXA UK.
  • Strong awareness of current UK fraud trends, and of fraud prevention/ detection market initiatives.
  • Understanding of the risk/internal control framework, how to identify and log risks and manage incidents.
  • Excellent interviewing skills and the ability to probe and use productive questioning to establish potential fraud risk.
  • Expert knowledge of current legislation including but not limited to GDPR, consumer duty etc.
  • Understanding of the claims audit process and methodology.
  • Expert knowledge of insurance principles and relevant case law, products, policies and claim’s philosophy.
  • Excellent organisation skills and ability to effectively prioritise tasks.
  • Ability to influence a wider range of stakeholders, co-ordinate, organise and prioritise.
  • Working with people – able to understand, listen, consult and collaborate effectively with others.
