Established in 2017 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Whiteinch & Scotstoun Housing Association Ltd (WSHA), WS Estate Services Ltd. (WSES) is Registered under the Companies Act 2006 No. 570143.
Managed by Operations Manager, Steven McLaughlin, and based at bespoke offices at the foot of the multi-storey block at 64 Curle Street (G14 0SU), WSES currently delivers a close and window cleaning, bin store cleaning and a comprehensive bulk uplift service to WSHA properties, as well as caretaking services to the multi-storey block at 64 Curle Street. WSES also delivers a grounds maintenance service to the properties in WSHA’s stock, a void management contract for the Association and the Association’s internal close painting and void painting. We operate with a team of 2 Estate Supervisors and 11 Estate/MSF caretakers, 1 Painting Supervisor and 2 qualified Painters to carry out these duties.
WSES also provide an efficient and effective cleaning service to the WSHA offices, and now seek to expand the team with a part-time Cleaner (20 hours per week), providing cleaning services to The Whiteinch Centre.

What we are looking for

CLEANER JOB DESCRIPTION
Post: Cleaner (WS Estate Services Ltd)
Salary: £12 per hour from 1st April 2024
Responsible to: Operations Manager
Responsible for: Cleaning at The Whiteinch Centre
Hours: 20 hours per week: 6am - 9am Monday – Friday, 9am - 2pm Saturday. These are worked over 7 days to meet the needs of the business. Some overtime work may apply from time to time but notice will be given.
Driving license: Preferred

Purpose of the Job
Under the direction of the Operations Manager, to deliver an efficient and effective cleaning service to the Whiteinch Centre (TWC).
Task
Solo working

Daily Cleaning/Saturday Duties
- All waste bins should be emptied and bag changed over every morning.
- All carpets to be vacuum cleaned using our own hoover.
- Free space at each workstation, including the reception desk and other low level furniture,to be dusted and wiped clean as required.
- All glass panels (internal) to be cleaned with an appropriate cleaner
- All non-carpet flooring is to be cleaned using an appropriate cleaner including two stairwells. All finishes are to be dried to prevent slips.
- All work surfaces in the kitchen and tea bars, including the top of appliances, should be wiped down.
- Check microwave ovens and clean inside if necessary.
- Toilet bowls to be cleaned using an appropriate brush and cleaner. Toilets should be disinfected and left ready to use. The use of bleach and cistern cleaners is unacceptable.
- Toilet seats to be cleaned with disinfectant and dried.
- Wash hand basins and mirrors to be cleaned with disinfectant.
- Electrical sockets, trunking and light switches to be wiped; being careful to avoid water penetration.
- Open and set up rooms for customers and ensure all rooms cleaned and locked after use.
- Ensure the full building has been checked at the end of every shift and all windows/doors locked and alarm set.
- Place all keys back in the key safe.
Weekly Cleaning Duties
- Wash down all paintwork including skirtings and pipeways.
- Ensure lift is clean using bacteria prohibiting cleaner.
- Dust artwork and pictures.
- Remove any stubborn stains from walls.
Every Two Months’ Duties
- Clean/Wipe down the insides of all kitchen units.
Annually
- Shampoo all carpets.
Health, Safety and Housekeeping
- Keep all items, materials, tools and equipment provided by WSES in good and working order.
As directed by the Operations Manager
- Keep the offices and storage facilities tidy and organised.
As directed by the Operations Manager
- Ensure full compliance with the organisations’ health & safety procedures.

General
- Communicate clearly with clients, and to respond timeously to customer complaints in relation to the services provided.
