DULWICH COLLEGE is hiring!
We are looking for a reliable Cleaner to perform general cleaning and maintenance duties at our London location. The ideal candidate will be a hard-working professional able to undertake a variety of tasks with attention to detail and discretion. They will be able to follow instructions as well as comply with all health and safety standards. The goal is to maintain our facility in the best possible condition by cleaning it regularly so that we can do our jobs with integrity and pride.
Job Purpose: Our cleaners play an important part in providing safe, clean environments in which our students/clients can thrive in their workspaces. You will be carrying out a range of cleaning activities including mopping, sweeping, dusting, emptying bins and cleaning washrooms.
Core Duties:
- You must be able to work to deadlines and prioritise
- Excellent attention to detail is required
- Required to work independently or in a small team
- Full training will be given on all duties and machinery if required
- Ensure all areas of your schedule are completed as required
- Ensure all checklists are signed off as required
- Comply with all health & safety regulations
- Dispose of rubbish
- Health and safety
- Clean and store all equipment after use
- Adhere to COSHH regulations, ensuring the correct use and storage of cleaning substances and materials.
Additional Duties:
- Periodical floor scrub off’s
- Use of Machinery
- Transporting of equipment
- Manual handling
What we are looking for:
- Cleaning experience is preferred however training can be provided.
- Reliable and hardworking with a professional attitude.
- Ability to work to a schedule and as part of a team.
- Capable of working to their own initiative where appropriate.
- Be open and honest.
- Be self-driven and determined.
- Have a full UK driving license
B. OUTLINE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Salary: £15.00 per hour.
Working Year/Hours: 40 hours per week working all year round.
Normal working hours are 10.00pm to 7.00am (with hour`s unpaid lunch break).
No. of Days Holiday: 20 days per annum pro rata to be taken during the school holidays. Entitlement increases to 25 days after completion of 5 years’ service.

References: The appointment is subject to receipt of references satisfactory to the College.
Police Clearance: The appointment is subject to police clearance as required by law for the protection of children and to compliance with proof of identity and addresses over the last five years in accordance with the stipulations laid down by the Criminal Records Bureau.
Probation Period: 6 months, with an interim review after 3 months at which time the position will be reviewed. In case of illness during the probation period, statutory sick pay only will be applicable
