The Opportunity
Zurich Resilience Solutions is pivotal to supporting our customers internally and externally, with market leading climate risk management solutions and we have an exciting opportunity for a Climate Change Specialist Risk Engineer to join our diverse and passionate team.
We are looking for a candidate to provide sustainability and resilience solutions to our internal and external customers and be involved in further developing our portfolio of climate change and natural hazard solutions in the UK and internationally. This fantastically varied and rewarding role includes customer management, delivery of survey programmes, provision of technical advice and much more.
We are looking for candidates located across the UK. The ideal candidate will have experience in working on climate change and environmental sustainability projects, this could be with corporate organisations, local authority, or charities. An insurance background is not necessary.
What will you be doing?
- Deliver physical climate risk assessments and provide related advisory services assessing the impact of climate change risk.
- Undertake desktop and on-site assessments for flood, natural hazards, and wind as part of risk management survey programmes in-line with global guidelines.
- Proactively manage the progress and completion of risk improvement actions as part of your overall Account Management customer programme.
- Contribute to thought leadership and technical insight delivered to customers, business partners and colleagues through events, communications, and other publications.
- Prioritise individual workload to deliver for our customers efficiently and effectively in line with global requirements.
What are we looking for?
- Experience in assessing a range of risks and the adequacy of control measures (primarily flood, natural hazards, wind, and heat)
- Knowledge of risk management and loss prevention practices for Property and Business Interruption risks
- Practical experience and technical expertise in one or more of the following fields: climate change mitigation analysis, low carbon technologies and energy efficiency, climate change vulnerability and adaptation assessment, greenhouse gas emissions inventories/assessment.
- A relevant degree or professional qualification in a climate related topic and/or Risk Management (Desirable)
- Excellent presentation and customer engagement skills; experienced at influencing and negotiation.

- Invest in self-development and the development of others including setting clear and ambitious goals.
- Tailor solutions in the best interests of our customers, understanding the evolving landscape and future needs.
