Clinical Research Governance Co-Ordinator

We are looking to appoint a Clinical Research Governance Co-ordinator.  Reporting to the Head of Administration and Finance, you will play a leading role in research administration and governance duties, working with members of the department, and interfacing with ethics committees, the Health Research Authority (HRA) and both NHS and University of Oxford Research Governance and Assurance (RGEA) teams.  The post is full time (however, consideration would be given to candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 80% FTE) on a pro-rata basis with appropriate adjustment of duties) and is based in Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital.  The post is for a fixed term (funded for 3 years) You will lead on the administration, co-ordination, planning and priority setting of Clinical Research in the Department of Psychiatry, particularly with respect to regulatory/ethics documentation.  This will include managing and maintaining a database of psychiatry research, and implementing new strategies and policies to ensure compliance with Research Governance related activities.  You will assist researchers in the department in understanding and navigating the governance approvals required to undertake their research.   You will have an undergraduate degree in an appropriate area, or suitable equivalent on-the-job experience, along with previous experience and expert knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks for investigator-led Clinical Research, ideally Clinical Trials of Investigational Medicinal Products (CTIMPs) and non-CTIMP research.  With the ability to interpret and apply policies in Clinical Research, and to manage a complex programme of activity, you will be able to communicate clearly with people at all levels, from support staff through to senior academics.  Previous experience of working in an academic Clinical Research environment would be desirable, as would experience of administratively supporting Clinical Research across multiple research groups.   You will be required to upload a supporting statement, a CV, and details of two referees as part of your online application.
