Organisation and delivery of teaching of clinical medical students (e.g. bedside teaching, small group teaching and simulation) ensuring this meets the learning objectives set by medical school. Supporting the medical undergraduate teaching programme with course development, evaluation and co-ordination of the teaching programme, in conjunction with the Head of Academy. To contribute to the organisation of student clinical examinations and assessments. To support students in pastoral role and to signpost as escalate as necessary. To liaise with staff in the medical school and Trust as appropriate, including clinical colleagues,undergraduate co-ordinators, Teaching Fellows in other Trusts and medical school education developers. To undergo training in teaching methods as agreed with the Head of Academy (Postgraduate Certificate in Education for Health Professionals, unless already completed). To be familiar with the curriculum and to be available to facilitate students self-directed learning. To ensure that clinical practice is up to date and to undertake a programme of continued professional development with clinical commitments appropriate to the development of specialist clinical skills e.g. attendance at clinics, ward rounds etc. as appropriate). To undertake quality improvement and/or research depending on the candidates interest. To comply with all relevant Trust policies and procedure.
