The post holder will provide support to the team of Research Nurses/coordinators to NIHR Portfolio-Adopted research studies within LNWH and ensure they are undertaken within the ICH Good Clinical Practice guidelines.
Previous research experience is not essential for this post as a comprehensive training and development program will be available to the successful candidates. This post offers excellent opportunities in gaining research experience.
The post holder will work with clinical teams to increase accrual of patients into clinical research supported by the Clinical Research Networks (CRN). Central to this role is supporting a team of Ophthalmology research nurses/coordinators who recruit patients into Clinical Trials studies. You will also support other teams of research nurses/coordinators in the central middlesex hospital. The post holder will also undertake independent projects to assist the team when necessary, in conjunction with the team leader. Working closely with colleagues the post-holder will be responsible for overseeing data relating to the recruitment and management of patients entering into CRN academic and commercial Clinical Trials. He/she will liaise with Clinical Trials units, to prepare for monitors visits and to ensure compliance with research governance. The post-holder will work with minimum supervision using own initiative to plan, manage and prioritise work demands, and efficiently communicate verbally and in writing, with a wide range of internal and external colleagues, exercising tact and diplomacy. The post holder will ensure confidential and sensitive information is kept secure, and that all work will be carried out in accordance with the Trust’s policies and procedures.

Duties will also include;
Provide administrative and data management support to the research teams at London North West Healthcare Trust
Communicate with other research teams within the Trust and develop good working relations to help support them where necessary and encourage a good working relationship with the medical doctors and nurses involved in patient care and facilitate a team approach to patient recruitment/enrolment to trials and safe practice.
Work at all times according to regulations as described in ICH, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and to the most current guidance relating to research governance and research ethics in each Trust and liaise with Clinical Trial Offices and external
